Each piece from the CREATED by PHILLIP STONER collection features Lab Grown Diamonds, offering the much-coveted, bigger look for less, without sacrificing quality.
This statement Platinum ring houses a central 1.50ct Lab Grown Diamond sandwiched between two 0.75ct Lab Grown Diamonds in rubover settings. They have all been assessed and graded by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) as D colour, VVS1 Clarity.
The heavy-weight ring was inspired by a traditional bombe ring, but has more angular lines, creating a contemporary look.
Lab Grown Diamonds have the same chemical, optical and physical properties as Natural Diamonds, so to the naked eye they are very difficult to tell apart. They are just as durable as each other and if they have been cut well, both will sparkle with an intense fire!
Once they have been grown and cut to their desired shape and size, Lab Grown diamonds are assessed by an independent Diamond Grader and issued with a certificate denoting their quality, just as Natural Diamonds are.
Natural diamonds are formed over millions of years under the Earth’s surface and there is a finite amount of rough material available. The rarity of Natural Diamonds, particularly ones of higher qualities, makes them incredibly desirable, but does mean they command a higher price.
Lab Grown Diamonds on the other hand can be manufactured in a matter of days or weeks using one of two methods, either High-Pressure, High Temperature (HPHT), or Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD). Over the past decade they have become increasingly popular and as a result more and more Synthetic Diamonds are being made to meet the demand. So many are now available that their prices have fallen dramatically over the past few years. As of June 2023, Lab Grown Diamonds were typically 70-90% cheaper than their Natural Diamond counterparts would be. This means bigger Diamonds of higher qualities can be available at more attractive prices.
