The Tour De France Grand Départ – Leeds

The countdown’s on for the Tour de France Grand Départ, which leaves Leeds from The Headrow on Saturday July 5th 2014.

Tour de France Grand Départ Clock - Trinity Leeds

A spectacular countdown clock, commissioned by Leeds City Council, is now on display on the ground floor at Trinity Leeds shopping centre. The timepiece, entitled the ‘Grand Depart Mechanical Theatre’ was crafted by students from the across the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Leeds.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the clock from Phillip Stoner’s Trinity Leeds store – it’s set to chime and shoot confetti to signal the start of the July race.
