The Tour de France Grand Départ is only days away and in celebration, on Thursday 3rd July, The Yorkshire Evening Post’s “Wear it Yellow” campaign is set to embrace the colour of Le Tour, while raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Individuals in businesses, schools and communities across the region have pledged to pay £1 each and wear something yellow on the day. At Phillip Stoner, for every £1 an employee donates, the MD will match it with £10! Monies raised will go towards keeping Yorkshire’s helicopters up in the air, continuing to save lives. Phillip Stoner’s Leeds teams will be getting involved on the day – Keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter to see the photos!
Anyone who would like to get involved in Yellow Yorkshire can email pictures and stories to The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Tour de France reporter, firstname.lastname@example.org, or tweet using the hashtag #yellowyorkshire.

After four weeks of voting and more than 6,800 votes cast, in November the new Leeds Children’s Mayor was announced as Charlotte Williams from Rufford Park Primary School in Yeadon.
In one of her first official engagements, Charlotte accompanied the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Thomas Murray, to a ceremony at Phillip Stoner’s Victoria Quarter boutique. There she was presented with her own Chain of Office, designed and handcrafted onsite by Phillip Stoner’s own master craftsmen, Graham Mathers.
Every section of the Chains, made from twists of sterling silver, was carved and engraved by hand and will be worn by the Leeds Children’s Mayor for years to come. Managing Director, Jonathan Stoner, said: “It’s an honour to be involved in creating a piece of history for Leeds. As an independent, family-run jeweller, we’re thrilled that the Council are showing their continued suppert for local businesses.”
Phillip Stoner has a long established relationship with the Lord Mayor’s Office in Leeds City Council. In 2002 the jeweller was entrusted to restore The Great Mace of the City of Leeds and the Lord Mayor’s 18ct gold Chain of Office, a painstaking process that took more than four weeks. After completing the task to the highest standard, the jeweller was then asked to produce a new gold Chain of Office for the Deputy Lord Mayor, a replica of the original, which was thought to have been made around 1840.

Thursday 10th October saw nearly 10,000 people visiting the Victoria Quarter Leeds for the centre’s annual Shopping Affair extravaganza, which was another great success. Phillip Stoner opened late on the night and embraced the NYC theme.
Customers were entertained by live music from a Frank Sinatra act, dancers, aerial artistes, living statues and stilt walkers, whilst the centre was further transformed with NY street signs, an 8ft Statue of Liberty, popcorn stalls and a genuine New York Yellow Taxi. Shoppers also took full advantage of exclusive offers and discounts available throughout the centre’s stores. Next year’s Autumn shopping affair will take place on Thursday 9th October.
To coincide with the Victoria Quarter’s annual Shopping Affair in Leeds and Fashion’s Night Out in Manchester, which both take place on 10th October, Phillip Stoner is inviting you to indulge with 20% off Wedding Rings, Eternity Rings & Jewellery* for one day only.
