One Carat Diamonds are beautiful, there’s no doubt about it, but they can also be expensive. Illusion Set Diamond Rings can give you the look of a larger Engagement Ring without breaking the budget.
Similarly, by adding multiple halos of diamonds around a smaller centre stone, you can achieve a grander look, for less
ILLUSION SET DIAMOND RINGS
Illusion setting involves clustering smaller diamonds together to create the illusion of one much bigger stone. In The Allium Collection, discreet talon claws, almost imperceptible to the naked eye, hold each Round Brilliant Cut Diamond securely in place, in an effort to make them blend as seamlessly as possible. The mixture of high quality diamonds and highly polished Platinum creates a truly spectacular ring.

SAPPHIRES IN RAINBOW JEWELLERY: THE FACTS
- Blue Sapphires may be the most commonly known, but Sapphires can also be pink, yellow, orange, violet, green or purple. The variety of beautiful hues available are now commonly used by contemporary jewellery designers to create beautiful Rainbow Suites.
- Sapphires are hardwearing. Although not quite as tough as Diamonds, Sapphires are perfectly suited to everyday wear.
- Sapphire is the Birthstone for September and the gemstone used to celebrate the 45th Wedding Anniversary.
- Royals are fans of Sapphire jewellery, the most famous piece being the Blue Sapphire & Diamond engagement ring worn by Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge. More recently Princess Eugenie was given a stunning, salmon coloured Padparadscha Sapphire Engagement Ring.
It’s never been more important to wash your hands regularly, but don’t forget about your cleaning your jewellery.
To keep the germs at bay (and keep your diamonds looking their best) regularly wash your rings in warm water using a mild detergent, such as washing up liquid. A soft tooth brush can be used to gently dislodge any dirt from underneath diamonds.
JEWELLERY CLEANING AT Phillip Stoner
Don’t forget with every Phillip Stoner ring purchase we offer free ultrasonic cleaning for life (like the above process but with more oomph!) If you have one of our rings and are passing one of our stores, call in for a quick 10 minute clean that will have your diamonds sparkling like new.
For a more thorough Clean & Polish, we can send your jewellery to our on-site Leeds workshop. It takes a little bit longer but in addition to cleaning the stones, our Goldsmiths will buff the metal, removing any scratches and making the piece shine like new. Please contact us for current prices.
We have been monitoring the situation regarding Coronavirus (Covid 19) carefully and it is with heavy hearts that we have decided to temporarily close Phillip Stoner The Jeweller’s physical stores. It’s a decision that hasn’t been taken lightly, but we feel the health and safety of our staff and customers has to come first.
Our Spinningfields Manchester store closed 22nd March with our Victoria Leeds and Trinity Leeds stores to follow, closing Monday 23rd March 2020.
We have been busy preparing for this over the past few weeks and have a team working remotely to continue to liaise with our designers, process special orders and repairs and take care of any new online sales and deliveries. We are available via live chat, email or phone so please do stay in touch.
We have spoken to the vast majority of our customers already, but if you have an item to collect and are unable to visit, please contact as us to discuss delivery options.
PHILLIPSTONER.COM remains open 24/7 with deliveries unaffected.
We will continue to communicate with you via social media, our website and e-newsletter as the ever-changing situation evolves.
In the meantime, please stay healthy, stay at home and we hope to see you all soon!
Eternity Rings are a symbol of everlasting love and are typically gifted on a significant anniversary or milestone, such as the birth of a new child.
When it comes to how you wear an eternity ring, tear up the rule book.. They don’t have to be worn alongside an Engagement Ring and Wedding Band. A lot of people choose to wear them on their right hand. There’s less pressure to find something that matches your bridal suite… and more room on your finger!
Diamond set Eternity Bands at Phillip Stoner The Jeweller start from £795 and are available in a variety of widths, metals and styles. View a small collection online at phillipstoner.com
On Wednesday 29th January 2020 Phillip Stoner The Jeweller in Victoria Leeds was the victim of an armed robbery. Thankfully no staff were physically injured, but the aftermath has been devastating. Trading at the store will be disrupted for a few weeks while we rebuild, but we are here during normal opening hours if customers need anything. Please call us on 0113 242 7888 or email email@example.com
In the meantime our Trinity Leeds (only a 5min walk away) and Spinningfields Manchester boutiques are open as normal. If you would like to rearrange an appointment, or have a special order or jewellery repair to collect, please get in touch and we can discuss several different options with you.
We also have a large catalogue of Fine Jewellery and Engagement Rings on our website www.phillipstoner.com. Items can be purchased online, or reserved to view in the store of your choice (with no obligation to buy) by clicking the “RESERVE” button on each product’s page.
We would like to take a moment to express immense gratitude for the love, support and well wishes we’ve received over the past few days. Customers, local businesses, fellow jewellers, the Police and passers by have all been incredible.
We will be back soon, stronger and better than ever!
A CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC
Made by Diamond by Appointment to their exacting standards, each one-of-a-kind ring in The Blush Collection is designed to enhance the carefully chosen, certificated diamond that sits at its heart.
Diamonds for the Blush Collection are carefully chosen for their faint pastel tones, often overlooked due to their lower colour grades despite their high clarities and carat weights. To accentuate each diamond’s natural beauty, a collar of 18ct Rose or Yellow Gold gently surrounds it. These warm tones enhance the colour of the stones beautifully and add a contemporary edge, with bi-metal jewellery becoming increasingly popular among both royals and celebrities.
As with all Diamond by Appointment engagement rings, each one is designed to sit neatly against the matching wedding rings and eternity bands on offer. The scallop-set diamond surround and shoulders are set in Platinum using a handcrafted technique, which provides a precise amount of metal to safely secure the stone with an unrivalled polish and finish. This modern take of a classic cluster ring is truly stunning.
VALUE FOR MONEY
As with all the 5C’s (cut, colour, clarity, carat and certificate), a diamond’s colour can have a significant impact on the price of a diamond. By choosing a Blush Ring, you can often achieve a real wow-factor for a fraction of the price that a ring with a D colour centre stone would command.

One of the biggest and brightest charitable events in the region’s calendar took place at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate on Saturday November 10th and once again Yorkshire dug deep – with over a quarter of a million pounds raised for Barnardo’s for the 4th consecutive year.
The Firecracker Ball, which is now in its 17th year supporting the world famous children’s charity, takes place every November in a huge themed marquee attached to Rudding Park Hotel, and this year over 680 guests were transported through the marquee and into the dazzling Brazilian Carnival.
Highlights of the ball included moving speeches from a group of young people supported by Barnardo’s in Bradford (ages 10-22); an auction of ‘money can’t buy’ prizes, including lots donated by Sir Paul McCartney and The Angels Events and a performance from pop sensation, Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
All funds raised on the night will be donated to Barnardo’s in Yorkshire, who each year help almost 14,000 children, young people and their families in over 80 specialised projects in local communities. Since the first Firecracker Ball for Barnardo’s in 2002, the event has now raised over £2.8 million.
As well as attending the ball, Phillip Stoner donated a 1ct Asscher Cut Diamond plus a £1000 Gift Voucher to have it made into a beautiful piece of jewellery in their Leeds workshop. The hugely successful diamond raffle raises much needed money for Barnardo’s each year and the jeweller is thrilled to be involved.
Light Night Leeds is back on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th October 2018. Visit Leeds city centre from 6-11pm and be mesmerised by amazing art installations and performances.
Phillip Stoner’s Leeds stores will both be open late until 7.30pm so we can enjoy the action too! Visit Victoria Leeds to see the Humanoids – an installation by Fantastic Planet and witness an incredible parade at Trinity Leeds shopping centre.

Did you know that Phillip Stoner The Jeweller has its own workshop on-site in Victoria Leeds where we produce Bespoke Jewellery?⠀
If you spot something in our window or online that you love but it’s not perfect, ask us whether we can make it bigger, smaller, in a different metal or to suit a specific budget. The answer is usually yes! ⠀
p.s. It’s a myth that creating a bespoke piece of jewellery costs more than buying something from the window. The price is often dictated by the centre stone, whether it’s a diamond or coloured stone and how much you want to spend is up to you.
