On March 21st Phillip Stoner opened the doors of its newest boutique store at Trinity Leeds. The shopping centre’s opening ceremony was a huge success with thousands of people flocking to the city to witness the unveiling of the world’s largest designer dress, curated by British fashion designer, Henry Holland. Measuring the equivalent of the height of three double decker buses, the silk dress, embellished with thousands of Swarovski crystals, was worn by aerial acrobat and former Cirque Du Soleil principle artist, Colette Morrow.
Open late Monday-Friday, Phillip Stoner is nestled between 120 shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Almost half of the stores are new to the city with Apple, Hollister, Superdry and Victoria’s Secret amongst the exciting names debuting in Leeds, together with new flagship stores from well-loved brands including Marks & Spencer, Next, River Island and Topshop.
Spanning more than 1 million square feet, the domed shopping centre sits under an impressive glass roof with integrated, individually programmable, LED’s, has interactive digital media screens, houses permanent art installations and has just become a Bookcrossing Zone.
UPDATE: In May 2013, the Trinity Leeds scheme was recognised for having transformed Leeds’ retail core and for putting the city firmly on the national and international map, winning the Best Commercial Development Award 2013!
